Formula 1 – Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Race Preview, Prediction, Time & Schedule.

On Sunday, the 28th of March 2021, the Bahrain Grand Prix Race will kick-off at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir exactly at 16:00 (GMT+1).

This will be the first race of the F1 calendar with the Bahrain Grand Prix moving back to its regular slot on the schedule after it took place in November last year. Lance Stroll and four-time F1 champion, Sebastian Vettel will be in the driver's seat of Aston Martin's AMR21 while Lewis Hamilton and team mate, Valtteri Bottas will be seen again in the driver's seat of the new Mercedes W12. Sergio Perez - formerly of Racing Point replaces Alexander Albon in the driver's seat of the RB 16B. However, Saturday's qualifying session will give a clearer picture of what to expect on race day as the F1 season kicks off.

What Does the Bahrain International Circuit Look Like?

Saturday’s Bahrain's Grand Prix Qualifying session will be held at Sakhir, Bahrain - a 5.412km long race track. It held its first grand prix just over a decade and a half ago in 2004 and is composed of what can be called relatively straights. There will be three DRS Detection Zones at turn 9 and turn 14 and just before turn 1 - ahead the speed trap. Pedro de la Rosa holds a record lap time of 1:31.447ms on this race track which he set while driving for McLaren-Mercedes in 2005. This 57-lap race will cover a total length of 308.238 km.

What can we expect on Race day?

We can expect the usual drama which comes with the Bahrain Grand Prix. Last year in November's Bahrain Grand Prix, we saw a nasty accident involving Romain Grosjean, which resulted in his Haas VF-20 splitting in two and bursting into flames. Later on, when the race was restarted after eighty minutes due to a red flag, Lance Stroll found himself out of the race after tipping over. Lewis Hamilton finished in 1st position (2:59:47.515) with Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon coming in behind him in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. We can expect another strong competition between Mercedes and Red Bull with Lewis Hamilton tipped to win the race.
